Sophocles II - Euripides V

It's been a thrill to experience these tragedies.  They are so illuminating, shedding real light on the classical Greek world.  It's as if I'm an archaeologist working 2500 years into the future, but I have access to the scripts from dozens of hit shows on Netflix from 2022.

That probably denigrates the quality and importance of these works, but it's the only metaphor I can think of right now.

Anyhow, here is a list of the Greek tragedies included in these works that I have recently completed:

Sophocles II
  • Ajax
  • The Women of Trachis
  • Electra
  • Philoctetes
  • The Trackers
Euripides I
  • Alcestis
  • Medea
  • The Children of Heracles
  • Hippolytus
Euripides II
  • Andromache
  • Hecuba
  • The Suppliant Women
  • Electra
Euripides III
  • Heracles
  • The Trojan Women
  • Iphigenia Among the Taurians
  • Ion
Euripides IV
  • Helen
  • The Phoenician Women
  • Orestes
Euripides V
  • The Bacchae
  • Iphigenia in Aulis
  • The Cyclops
  • Rhesus
That completes the extant tragedies of Greek tragedy.  Next up is Greek comedy, starting with Aristophanes!
