This book, just one in a series, tells the real life story of Marjory, her husband and their dog Wallace as they move to the Mani region of southern Greece, during the Greek financial crisis no less.
It's charming and funny, with heavy doses of reality, just like Greece itself.
And it doesn't hurt that it's filled with tales of Wallace, an independent-minded Jack Russell, experiencing his own Odyssey in rural Greece.
The book strongly reinforces my desire to explore the Mani, a recommendation nurtured by Rick Steves.
I can't wait to read more of these books.
