With the Heart of a King by Benton Rain Patterson

Not much new to say except, as I wrote recently, I need to continue to read these types of history books, those that focus on short times of span measured in years or a few decades.  By balancing this with my love of long, sweeping, historical epics, I will gain a stronger understanding of the periods which I study.

With the close of With the Heart of a King, which focuses on the lives and interplay of Queen Elizabeth I of England and King Philip II of Spain (which reached a crescendo with the Spanish Armada's failed invasion of England), I feel like I'm sufficiently familiar with the 16th century to move on to the 17th.

But first I must finish my first Dickens, David Copperfield, which lies only 1/2 read.
